Upgrading from a 4870

i needed some advice on upgrading from a sapphire radeon 4870 1gb. i am in the 100 to 150 dollar range. i am fine with amd (ati) or nvidia. here is my build to see what yal recommend. i do gaming and photoshop

i7-870
gigabyte ud3-p55
4gb corsair dominator ram
1tb samsung spinpoint
coolermaster 212 plus cpu cooler
ultra 650 watt psu
haf-x case

It will be hard to find anything that performs better than a 4870 in that price range. Your card is on par with a 5770 which would be the only thing in that price range with any sort of performance.

Unless you can go for the $200 mark (every other week, you can find a 5870 at this price), I'd say save your money or you'll be disappointed.

I have a sapphire radeon 4870 1gb too and it's still a good card. ubercake is right about the price range. I am waiting for the 7xxx and 6xx cards. (They will likely be alot better.)

save a little more money before upgrading or be prepared to be disappointed in a 150$ "upgrade" because theres not any card in that price range that is significantly better than a 4870.

You get used to it. I have lost count of how many times someone has posted exactly what i posted three posts ago and gets the best answer. Its annoying more than anything, its not like the points and badges actually mean anything. mine dont even add up to my post count.
