Hello, i'm just wondering and been stressing the whole night about this. But i'm wondering if an AMD Athlon 64 x2 (Socket AM2 (940)) 64-bit would be eligible to upgrade into AMD Phenom II X4 965. Sorry, i'm just making sure, that nothing goes wrong. Thank you, really appreciate it.

No it will not support the Phenom II x4 965. This board only supports 65w CPUs. The Phenom II CPUs come in 95w and 125w versions so the answer is no. It is a very old motherboard and only supports max 4GB of DDR2 RAM. The most powerful CPU it will support is the Phenom X4 9450 which is a speed crippled CPU (all first generation Phenom's were speed crippled by the TLB bug even after they were "fixed").

My advice is to wait awhile after you have saved up enough money and buy a brand new system.

How is the Phenom X4 9450? is it still viable enought to run high end games? i'm on a low budget saving for a new system is kind of harsh.
