This could be a dumb question. Just installed a MSI GTX 460 1GB Cyclone. This is the first graphics card that i ever installed. My question is the properties of this card. In Everest the properties are these.

GPU clock 50MHZ (geometric domain) ( original 725 )

GPU clock ( shader domain) 101 MHz (original 1451)

Real clock 67MHZ ( QDR) (original 900 MHZ)

Effective clock 270 MHZ

Is this right?

Use GPU-Z, that will tell you what the card clocks and specs are.

Today's cards clock themselves down to save power when not in use, just like your cpu does.

Yes, GeekApproved is right, my hd6850 will through it's mem clock down to 300Mhz to save power. You should be fine. When your computer demands more power, your GTX 460 will pump it out.

that is your gpu clock in idle. my GTX460 also have the very same clock as you mention above when in idle.
