Any thoughts on a build?

hey doing my first build have a strict budget of £550.

heres the list of what i was thinking any thoughts or points would be much appreciated.

cpu: i5 760 - 2.8
mobo: Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H H55 Socket 1156
GPU: radeon hd 6850
mem: Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 XMS3 i5 Memory Kit CL9(9-9-9-24) 1.65V
psu: Corsair 600W GS Series PSU
case: antec 300

Not to bad. The first issue is that your CPU and mobo are LGA 1156, A dying breed. You'd be much better off with a Sandy Bridge build as it's newer/faster/cheaper/awesomer tech.. Please fill out this form and I'll get back to you.

couple of quid more, but the z68's are fresh off the line and will last you longer, plus its a better choice for possible overclocking adventures later on

Was looking at your build, and I noticed that your ram is 1.65 volt. This is not designed for the Sandy Bridge platform, you want 1.5v. Any 1600mhz 1.5v ram should do, get what's cheapest.

I also suggest switching the GPU to something like this: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/267730 The 6850 will work just fine, I simply prefer NVidia GPU's for overclocking headroom.

^its not new Sb by the looks, but the old 1156 chip so should be fine on the ram
and I'm not doing the Ati/Nvidia argument hehe

cant afford to go for the nvidia 560 it just pushes the budget out, with the other changes im at breaking point

think i will go with that build so point in this week, it going to be busy just finishing some courses at uni. hopefully it will go fine but if i find any problems i will shout.

okay just looked back at that ram got it by selecting 1.5v in search options on ebuyer checked it and its 1.65v dam
