Hello,

This is my first build, though I've been gaming on pre-built systems for years. I want this to be a decent gaming computer capable of playing Skyrim when it comes out, as well as company heroes.

I'm wondering primarily if the following components are compatible. I would also appreciate feedback about any components I've selected that are just junk as well as suggestions for what to replace those components with.

Here is the build:

MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500

Rosewill RV2-500 500 W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V SLI Ready Power Supply

Rosewill Blackbone Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

ZOTAC ZT-40602-10L GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

PNY Optima 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model

Seagate Constellation ES ST31000424SS 1TB 7200 RPM SAS 6Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
MD8192KD3-1333

LG Black Super Multi SATA WH12LS30 LightScribe Support

Total cost: 732.92 - 40.00 rebate = $692.92

Thank you all for your help,

Rosewill is not known for good PSUs. I'd suggest Antec or Corsair.

The H67 mobo series is OK but for serious gaming I'd suggest the P67 or Z68 series. The H series doesn't provide for overclocking and if you want to upgrade your processor in the future you would need a new mobo as well.

If you are buying the i5 2500 I'd suggest that you go with the i5 2500K which can be overclocked. Hence the P67 or Z68.

The 430 GTX is an underpowered GPU for gaming. I'd suggest the GTX 460 if you can afford one.
