Hi everyone,

So here I have been waiting for the new release of BD which is why I have been saving all my pennies and now I can do a closer to a 2k build than when I asked for help around Dec/Jan

My question now is?

If I want to get started with building my new AMD rig what is available?

What is the going thought on a decent gaming system with the new BD? I know there are gonna be issues when it does finally come out as there usually is, but for me I find it will be a learning experience that I need and would enjoy. This will be my first build so I want to kinda go slow and absorb everything I can.

So what is everyone's thoughts on the direction I should go?

Starting from the case on out.

Links from Newegg or tiger is just fine, or even just thoughts and I'll research them myself.

I"m looking at playing the newest games on the highest settings, Overclocking is fine, again these are things I'm looking to learn. Also HD Movie watching is a forethought if it can be achieved without sacrificing my gaming.

Thank you everyone for your time and thoughts, I look forward to seeing your comments.

Prior to the release of a single AM3+ motherboard and/or Bulldozer/Zambezi cpu, and actual gaming benchmarking of said MBs/CPUs, it would be impossible to recommend buying anything AMD at the moment, aside from perhaps a pair of 6950s...

Speculation that BD will outperform Sandybridge 2500K/2600k cpus in games is pure conjecture/guessing at this point in time....

However, the i7-2500k offers excellent/outstanding performance .....TODAY.

I understand what is being said, and as being a relative beginner to the hardware world this is why I asked this question here.

I wanted to hear the thoughts and if possible places where i can read and learn. Yes I"m looking to do a 15 to 1800 dollar system, saying I've saved my money for a 2k system was I guess just rounding up.

I didn't know if there was a setup I can start on (meaning case, PS, GPU etc) that has been a recommended start for when the boards and cpu comes out.

I'm looking forward to the new AMD as from what I have heard (and I may be completely misinformed) intel tends to change things fairly often and upgrading previous components doesn't go over well.

Again, obviously I may be way off in left field on some thoughts, but this is why I am here asking. I would rather be informed than look like an idiot that thinks he knows what he is talking about while being an idiot that has absolutely no clue.

Thanks for taking the time to educate me, any and all slaps upside the head are welcomed.
