I finally found time to play bfbc2 on my new rig and It froze on me 30min-1hour. It's not over-heating cpu was at 50C, GPU was at 50C also. I ran prime95, furmark, and memtest, no errors, no freezing. I setted my ram to specification, I didn't OC the cpu/gpu.

TBH I posted before, and I thought my problem was gone, but it came back the next day I play bfbc2 again. I played sc2,brink, black ops and I didnt get any problem with it.

CPU spec
i7 2600k 3.5ghz (It auto oc itself from 3.4 - 3.5) 1.35v (ppl overvoltage is off to allow computer to sleep)
p8p67 deluxe
4 x 4gb g.skill 1600mhz 1.5v la 9-9-9-24
2 x cf 6950 2gb (not flashed/OC)
ocz zx 1250w
1 vertex 3 120gb(OS-win7 64bit), 1 vertex 2 120gb, 3 hdd ( 2 x 1tb, 1 x 2tb)
Bios 1305

I ran it on a single monitor at 1980x1080, or triple monitor it will still freeze on me. I set power at Higher Performance in windows. I run my bfbc2 on a Hitachi 1tb 7K1000.C which I used on my 1156 rig to run bfbc2 which ran fine. Any advice?

I play bfbc2 a lot myself, its not particularly a stable game by any means. I have random crashes (doesn't respond and I have to alt-tab to desktop and end process) every couple of days (I play a few hours a day).

when you say it freezes, what exactly happens? black screen? can you ctrl alt del out of it? does the audio hang? be as descriptive as possible. I have previously had a system crash to black screen then restart before. Turned out to be the graphics card.

first thing I would try is to reduce all your settings to minimum, resinstall drirectx, drivers (maybe even try an older driver). then move on to removing one of your gfx cards and see if it is something to do with crossfire settings in bf.

When it freezes, everything hangs, audio goes on weird loop. Can't alt tap, ctrl/alr/del or anything. I have to restart or force shut off. Theres no trace of BSOD or on bsod viewer, i turned off auto-restart hardware failure , no black screen. I played even on low setting 1 x aa, at 12xx X 8xx, it still freeze. If it's my GPU, I think it would occur in SC2 also.

If it happens in sc2 as well then the easiest way to troubleshoot would be to unplug one of your two gfx cards. run it in just single with one... see if it fixes the problem. if it doesn't then try the other one instead. if it happens with both it would indicate it is either a software problem, or some other piece of hardware is causing it (highly unlikely if you have done all the other benchies/stress tests you say you have).

also are the gfx cards hot to touch? are u sure they r only at 50C? they shouldnt be that cool under load unless u r using aftermarket cooling. if so what sort of rig is it?

no, underclocking didnt fix it, i ran 1 gpu still freeze. As i said again, i highly doubt it's the GPU....if it was the GPU, the freezing/crashing would be different and would occur in other games(i play sc2 for 3 hours straight it's fine.) However in bfbc2, my freezing is very consistent, its within the 20min-40min in-game. Temperatures are fine....its not overheating. My theory is a software issue, because if it's hardware it would be seen on other games also...

when is the last time you did a clean drivers install? How old are those cards?BC2 is a crash happy game to say the least anyways...if you think its your software try reinstalling the game....and did bc2 still freeze with a single card? I have never played the game cross fired but you might try to disable x fire and run 1 card for that game....just some other simple things to try if you have not already

hmmm puzzling....tried rolling back drivers? it is an old game....at this point Im at a loss besides that...at least you know you have good cards and power the only thing would be a driver if its only for that one game. Im thinkin anyways

I found the problem, I posted on other topic similar to bfbc2 freezing. I was running 2.1 msi burner which causes bfbc2 to lock up/freeze , if i run 2.0 it should fix the problem, which it did.
