Check cable signal

my pc monitor is dead so i'm using
my lcd tv w/ vga slot, it's working like an ordinary montor, however there is a display error"check cable signal" that is appearing. pls help

I would check what resolution your LCD TV is capable of. I knew someone that tried using their TV when their monitor packed up - but the resolution was so low that windows would get to the Windows XP flash screen then nothing after that

what kind of tv is it? 720p is only 1366x768 usually.
