Making 2 monitors 1 display

Hi guys,

I couldn't think of a better way to phrase the thread title but anyway, i have 2 monitors of different makes and was wondering if i could join it and make it 1 widescreen display. Both are 1080p hd monitors and i have a nvidia gtx 460.

Are you talking about games or general desktop computing?

For the most part, plug both monitors into the graphics card, configure them in the visual settings and away you go.

General desktop computing. I have plug them both in but i do not see an option to stretch the whole desktop onto both monitors. It only allows me to clone desktop or have an extended desktop.
