Cannot access certain websites

Hello,

There are only a few websites that I can access, such as google.com, espn.com or blackboard. Most other wesites however, such as hp.com cannot be accessed from my laptop. I use Windows 7 and I am connected to a Netgear router via ethernet cable. This seems to be a common problem, since googling it yieds many results. However, none include any solutions.

Check TCP/IP Properties.

Start, Connect To, Connection, Properties, Scroll Down TCP/IP and highlight, click Properties and check that Obtain DNS and IP address automatically are enabled.

You might also try changing your browser or ensuring that Flash is not disabled.

What error message do you get?

Can you open a command prompt & try to ping the sites - do you get back an IP address but no response, or no IP address at all?
