Your pc is not powerful enough to run GTA IV. You may want to try turning down some of the settings in GTA IV. You may want to double check the system requirements to run this game.

Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3

1.8GHz Intel Core2Duo or 2.4GHz AMD Athlon X2 64

256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

1 GB of RAM (Windows XP) or 1.5 GB of RAM (Windows Vista)

Recommended :-

Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3

2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Quad or 2.1GHz AMD Phenom X3

512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

2.5 GB of RAM (Windows XP) or 2.5 GB of RAM (Windows Vista)

And I'v just got a new PC and Windows 7.
But I'm not being horrible or anything in this message.

Hi I've already turned down the settings on GTA IV and it still randomly shuts down and GTA IV is compatible with Windows 7

I'm having the same problem!...

PC is perfectly fine until gta iv has loaded.... shutdown.

my specs are

ASRock G31M-S
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5400 @ 2.70GHz Core Speed 3376.6 MHz
DDR2 832MHz 2048MB
WDC 320GB Sata II & Samsung 500GB Sata II
Nvida 8800 GTX w/ Large passive cooler + 3 fans

I can use the pc for hours fine and on anything intensive but gta. when its shuts down i have to turn it off from the switch first, before it will reboot.

The problem started a few days ago then got worse to the point it was as soon as it was loaded, it would shut down.
I removed a ram stick, which was causing some issue, but 2GB is enough for gta.

any help would be great, Thanks
