AMD Processor Driver?

Seems to me from looking around the AMD site that they really don't give a *** about CPUs anymore. Where can I find the driver? It's not there anymore...

I do remember seeing a processor driver once upon a time. I think it was the cool and quiet driver though.

I think you want the chipset driver which you get from the motherboard manufacturer.

AMD still has the AthlonX2 Dual Core Optimizer. It intalls a low leverl CPU driver in windows. I have a few older AMD machines and the optimizer does not seem to have any impact in anything, using both windows XP and Windows 7. Any way search for Dual core optimizer or DL it here.

Unless your installing from a Pre XP SP3 CD, you don't need Cool N Quiet driver as it suppplied by O/S.

As I said in my previous post, the chipset support package is all you need, that is all I ever install on my AMD rigs.

Then you didn't look hard enough, try hitting one of those things called a dropdown selection box.

I'm in complete agreement with Op on this,
I run a 30 year old motorbike and every Honda dealer should damn well have every nut, bolt, washer and screw in stock just in case I ever might need them,

Only for XP though. It is needed as the MS provided one can cause crashes.

I know this thread is ye olde, but since AMD seemingly doesn't give a damn about XP users, the link jimmysmitty posted gives out this:

As I couldn't find that exact same driver anywhere else, I went through the effort of uploading three mirrors of that installer, making an account here and posting them

I appreciate you posting this, but a driver for the CPU is not required in Windows 7.
