Hi there,

I recently installed an AMD Phenom II x6 3.2 ghz AM3 cpu into my HA06 - GT motherboard. I have a 450w corsair psu and I was told all of this is compatible. The psu can supply the cpu and the motherboard supports AM3 however today when I installed it nothing comes up on the screen and no beeps. Just nothing. Any ideas on what could fix it or what could be wrong?

Did you get beeps before the new cpu? If you used to get beeps and now you don't, the motherboard is in trouble, either something is wrong w/ the mobo or psu.

Well, if you have a friend with a similar computer, you could test it (the cpu) out on his. If it works, it is either you did something to your mobo while installing the new cpu, or, and probably more likely, you have a problem with the psu, either it being too small, or just faulty.

How can it be faulty if this build has been running for 2 years straight? Its only now that I put a brand new cpu w/ new heatsink and fan that its been like this

Then it might just be not enough power for the new cpu. But you should make sure it isn't just a DOA cpu.

Reseat the cpu and heatsink, and make sure you've properly plugged in your 24 pin and 4/8 pin plugs i.e. make sure they are in securely, and make sure you used the correct 4 pin if it is a 4+4 pin breakaway
