I have now started all over again and I have come up with this build

Motherboard: Gigabyte 6 series GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3 Intel H67 = $120
Processor: Intel core i5-2400 3.10GHz (2nd Generation) = $190
HDD: Seagate ST31000524AS Barracuda 1TB = $60
RAM: Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 XMS 8GB DDR3 = $90
PSU: Ultra LSP500 550W ATX = $50
Optical Drive: Sony BD-5300S-OB = $110

Now I have some confusion about choosing either "Visiontek 900333 Radeon HD 5770 Killer NIC Combocard 1GB" and "XFX HD-575X-ZMF3 Radeon HD 5750 1GB" Graphics card. My screen resolution is 1440x900. If you have suggestions pls submit them to me. I intend to use this rig mainly for gaming. I'm also looking for a good gaming case.
I'm looking for a case with loads of space, ventilation, bling.

there is no choice between the 5750 and 5770
Whats your budget for the case?
plus I think your sig has the Maxim backwards, I fear nothing and regret less :p

Ill go with the 5770 since it is cheaper with rebate for a more powerful card.

I would also get this PSU instead of the Ultra LSP500

Same price. But 700w + modular.

Thanx there buddy, I too wanted to go for 5770 but I was attracted towards 5750 because it had Shader model 5.0. but 700W PSU of yours is surely going to give my dad a heart attack if he was to see the next month's electricity bill. besides 5770 requires min. 450W But thanx again bro!

First of all, what do you mean that there's no choice b/w 5750 & 5770?

second, $50-$110 is my budget for the case

third, i know that sig is from John Cena. But instead of fearing nothing I do have arachnophobia (for spiders, not for scorpions) And I do not regret anything. so I tweaked that a bit and it suited me very well.

Don't worry about ventilation with the 2400 and the 5750. They won't create enough heat to matter. You could shift budget away from the case and end up with a better computer. (2500k/P67 or better GPU) If you are just doing it for the looks that is fine too though.

700W PSU Won't pull 700 watts, it's just the max it's rated for.
Honestly I would get a lower wattage (cheaper) PSU from a more reputable brand.

Hehe, no probs man, i like the saying, didnt know who if anyone was the originator so ty for the info there,
I meant that the 5770 was the card to go for, I run several in my house and they're great cards,
and the 700w psu worry? your psu will only pull what it needs to from the wall, it doesn't take 700w then diveide it accordingly, if your rig needs 520w, thats all it will draw,
case-wise you have a lot of options for $110 so list things in order of wantness :p
fullsize/mid?
brand preference if any
window/non windowed?
lights?
fans?
bear in mind a good pc is one you start with and tweak, you add the lights or fans that you want so find a good base to start from and then its all modding :)

in that case I'm surely going for the 700 watter PSU. thanx for that.
Now it all comes to the case. I prefer an ATX mid tower that supports Micro ATX Mobo, any brand is accepted, vented, with lights, with lots of fans to keep the rig cool and I want it to be quite enough so that i can enjoy the games i play
