Error video device driver

Hello,
turned computer on - told me I had a video device driver error. I need to update device drivers or turn down acceleration. can't get the computer to stay on long enough to update the drivers. What can I do?

go into safe mode and uninstall the bad driver/device. I'm assuming you have a vid card and not just using the built-in graphics, this will have your computer use the built-in graphics and just so you know your screen resolution will go down quite a bit thats ok. Then log in normally and find the latest drivers and install.
