Hey, I use an Intel 2500k processor, and recently I noticed a slight humming sound. I checked up the inside of my desktop and found that it had something to do with the cpu_fan. Now, I've had this desktop running for only about 3 weeks. Whether there was humming before or not, I am truly not quite sure; I realized it yesterday. It seems to also create a bit of vibration on my case. Also, it only hums when the cpu_fan wire is connected. Is this a problem? If so, know of any solutions? Thanks.

Solution
It isn't anything to worry about.

It could possibly be a slightly off balance fan, but it won't hurt anything.

However, unplugging the fan cable while your computer is running is a great way to destroy a CPU ;)

You won't destroy an Intel CPU by stopping the fan. It will shutdown before it gets damaged. I know that by experience.
