Cannot see who is on my network

I have windows 7 operating system on my computer and have installed a new router that provides wireless network connectivity (I am able to logon to the internet), but I am unable to discover other computers in the local wireless network. What should I do?

More about cannot network
  1. depending on firewall and workgroup settings, and file sharing settings computers might not be visible on your network.
  2. You question could be interpreted two ways:

    a) you can't see neighbouring wireless networks.
    b) you can't see who else is using your wireless connection.

If (a) I would download a program like Network Stumbler which is specifically designed for that purpose.

If (b) your router's user setup screens (see manual) should have a feature called something like Attached Devices.
