I'm in the market for a new GPU and after alot of reading and saving, I've decided on the MSI GTX 570. I currently own an EVGA GTX 285 standard edition. There's nothing wrong with my current card, I'm just looking to upgrade. My question is...can I use my GTX 285 in SLI with the GTX 570? Or can I only run 2 of the same cards in SLI?

I play all my games at 1920x1080 on a 23" monitor. I've also read about using a second graphics card as a dedicated physics card. Do I need the same 2 cards to do that too? Is something like that even worth doing?

In summary, SLI between GTX 570 and GTX 285, NO. Using the GTX 285 for Physx, YES.

Good luck and make sure you have a sufficient PSU to run both GPUs in your desired config!
