I recently moved to NYC and have switched to Time Warner Turbo, I have 2 desktops wired with a cable modem attached to a Netgear WGR61. I can run ping and speed tests after a fresh connection and get great pings of 20-30 and 30+ Mb/s... however after several minute my latency rises to 100-500+ constantly.
I have tried resetting the modem and router and a few other tweaks but have no idea what this could be related to, I am assuming it is a router related issue, but I have no idea, it is making online gaming near impossible.
Perhaps someone has an idea? oh, and my firmware is upgraded to the newest version.
