I am wanting to upgrade my video card to a single 560ti or 6950. my system:
msi p7n sli mb

monitor rez is 1680 x 1050
win 7 64bit
which if either of these cards will work with this mb.

Either will work, but if you want to take advantage of the SLI capabilities, then only the GTX 560 can be paired up with a second card. Your Nforce motherboard will not support dual AMD cards. Most GTX 560's come factory overclocked and were designed specifically for high performance at your resolution where they will outperform the 6950 for less money.

Both will work. I would go for the 6950, as they can be unlocked to 6970's and give more performance.

both would be great cards though.

Matto is right, I would suggest the hd6950, but because it is an SLi motherboard, dual AMD cards will not run crossfire, where as dual Nvidia cards will run SLi. Grab the GTX 560 Ti. Hope this helped! ;)

Cool! Just remember, as long as you have a PCI-E slot, it can house a PCI-E card.
