Hello so I'm looking for a good mother board for the AMD FX-Series FX-8120 but all I find are mixed reviews. Needs to be able to over clock with minimal effort .

Budget around £100 - £120 ($170ish)

Case: CiT Vantage Midi Mesh Gaming Case

CPU cooling: Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme Rev.2

More about : motherboard 8120

I'm rocking the ASUS Sabertooth 990FX with an 8150 - granted, it was an extreme upgrade from my AMD Dual Core 5600+ but I am loving gaming again because of it.

GA-990FXA-UD5 AM3+ is $160US after rebate -- $190CAN

Better electricals than the UD3, though it's a great mobo (I've got one).

So out of the 3 which would you recommend?

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5

ASRock 990FX

If I had to pick from just those three I would go with the Asus Sabertooth 99FX.

i would good with the Sabertooth 990FX if you have the money but all of these motherboard will run the CPU this fine unless you plan on doing some serious overclocking then the Sabertooth will be better

Sabertooth 990FX. best Motherboard i have ever used. I love it, it tells me the temps on every area across the board. Gives me real time voltage readings and stable overclocks

Agreed - 5 year warranty was the thing that sold me but I was incredibly surprised by ASUS' suite of utilities and the BIOS. To klepto a trademark, I'm lovin it. Wish AMD would HTFU and release their piledriver procs. I have a buddy with the identical board who was interested in upgrading from his 1055 so I should get most of what I paid for the proc and get a little extra CPU wiggle room.

The sabertooth 990FX was released before bulldozer, hence you'll have to update your bios to use a Fx CPU.

According to the Asus's website:
"If your motherboard BIOS version number is greater than the BIOS version 0813, then you will not need to flash your BIOS. However, if your BIOS version is smaller than the version listed above, then you will need to select and download the latest BIOS to update your system"

I'm not sure, but I believe they have updated their bios, & you can use a Fx CPU right out of the box, without any issues.
Before you buy just find out that its the updated version.
