Radeon HD 4650 AGP not working in Windows 7

Forum Graphics & Displays : AMD Radeon Radeon HD 4650 AGP not working in Windows 7

Word :    Username :

I have a ATI Radeon HD 4650 AGP card on a P4S800D-X MB. 2 GB RAM. The current hotfix drivers installed from AMD, and still "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" I just installed Windows 7 ultimate. I did have Windows XP SP3. I had no problems in XP. Under Win 7 device manager, the card is listed as ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series. It sees it, but wont use it. How can I get this to work?

This is the driver you are using, correct?

You can try manually installing the driver alone using device manager.

Edit: Also, try re-downloading and reinstalling.

Who made your card (examples: sapphire, Asus, etc.)? Try checking their site for drivers.

With the card installed (and no drivers obviously) what does GPU-Z say about the card (screenshot if you can)?

Edit: and have you tried some of these drivers: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presen [...] x?psn=0006

I have an AMD card, would saphire drivers work?

Reply to arcticdragon2001

I think that those are generic ATI (AMD) drivers, so they should work with the other manufacturers. I linked to that site because they have a full list of drivers going back months.

Also, if anyone who is having these issues could check with GPU-Z and post a screenshot of what it reports, that would be great.
