Which processor for 3D modelling?

I'm building a new PC from scratch but I can't decide on the processor.

The main purpose of the upgrade will be for 3D Modelling and Rendering (using Blender). I will also be running Adobe After Effects, Premiere and Photoshop CS5, although my main priority for efficiency is with Blender. I don't really play high end games.

I can't decide between:

Intel i5 2500(k)
Intel i7 2600(k)
AMD Phenom ii x6 1090T
AMD Phenom ii x6 1100T

Ideally I would like to spend around £150.

I also can't decide if I should wait for the Bulldozer to come out. I don't want to wait any longer than the start of October.

I will be running Windows 7 64-bit and for the time being I'm not planning to overclock, although this might possibly change in the future.

What is recommended?

I appreciate any advice.

any of them will be good for your uses
if your going to wait for bulldozer, get a phenom x6 and an am3+ mobo, which supports bulldozer so you can upgrade to it in the future, i'd provably say the 2500k/2600k is probably the fastest if you overclock them

I would suggest that you wait for Bulldozer.

Even if it isn't faster than Sandy Bridge, having two competing current-gen processor architectures to choose from might be a good idea.

From what I've heard, Bulldozer should be out by late September - the end of this quarter.

@ megadelayed:
If the OP goes with Sandy Bridge, an upgrade to Ivy Bridge down the line would be possible, since the Ivy Bridge processors will be compatible with the LGA1155 socket... Just saying that both options offer viable upgrade paths, that's all.

Right now, the Sandy Bridge Core i7-2600K is the best processor under $400. Here are some benchmarks:

(Ignore the disparity between the scores of the 2600 and the 2600K if you won't be overclocking - they're the same at stock clocks).

Once again, Bulldozer might offer better value for your money - more cores at a lower price point. Link. The processors with an 'FX' prefix are the ones based on the Bulldozer arch.

Hope this helped. Do let us know how your build progresses. ;)

the reasons that you gave the op about sandy bridge is why i said 2500k/2600k is his best bet but the x6 options is because the op mentioned bulldozer which i think he might prefer so i gave him an option to choose from if he doesnt want to wait

I understand. No offense intended. :)
