Horrible lag on all games

my rig is as follows:
windows 7 64-bit
AMD Phenom II x6 1090T Running at near 3.2GHz
8192MB of ram, 2x4GB Mushkin DDR3
ATI Radeon HD 5750 1gb

I figured this would give me a decent framerate with games like World of Warcraft, and star wars: the force unleashed 2. It doesnt. I cant run the force unleashed 2, even on lowest settings without having the time to dodge lasers due to horrible lag. and WoW? only a joke. barely pull 20 in elwynn forest flying around on "good" settings. My friends rig closely resembles mine, yet, he gets a constant 45 - 60 fps on highest settings, with no visible lag. PLEASE HELP.

Update your BIOS and turn off AA in catalyst control centre.

Then run the auto tune for AMD overdrive.

But I agree this is a low end card for what is a decent PC otherwise.

Turn off projected textures and sun-shafts and put shadows on low.

This will help a massive amount.
