GTX 550ti on single 6pin PCIE

Would it be possible for a GTX 550ti to run on a single 6pin PCIE, I was wondering If I could buy some sort of splitter to make it work, but I'm not sure if this would work?

Also, If not, should I get the GTS 450 OC ( Or Non OC ) Or the HD 5770 (OC or Non-OC ).

Which is better and why?

Thanks.

  1. What power supply do you have? The bigger issue is its ability to supply power, not the connectors available, the card will likely come with a 2 molex to 6 pin PCI-E connector so that shouldnt be an issue.
  2. A 500W Xigmatek PSU.

Or the NRP-VC503 (In Tech Term).

Its the max upgrade for the PC I am getting, which is from a websites configurator.

That unit will be fine, i see it also has an 8 pin PCI-E connector so it has enough power available, you can use one of the adapters if you need to without an issue.
  4. Thanks for the speedy reply, here's the setup Im getting.
Minus the GPU cause Ill get the GTX 550ti.
