LGA 1155 or 2011

Hi im quite quite new with building pc's so was hoping for some help.

Can someone explain to me the biggest diffrences between the LGA1155 and 2011?

And could someone recommend a Motherboard for me? With price around 400 usd.

I think i will go with a gtx 680 perhaps sli, or if i can afford it a gtx 690.
And a hige end i7 core.

lga 1155 supports sandy bridge and ivy bridge so you get better processors with that, dont get a gtx 690 not worth the money if anything get the new 670

You don't get better processors with s1155, you get cheaper processors that perform nearly as well.

s2011 is mainly for high end workstations.

If i have a budget of 2000 usd how much of it should go to the motherboard.
The rampage or Asus sabertooth x79 is quite good but do i need to spend a lot of money on it?
think i will go with a 1155 than, Intel® Core i7-2700K Processor.

what are you building for? gaming? video encoding?
$2000 is a great budget however spending half of it on just the processor and motherboard will just be a waste if it isn't needed.
