Hi,

I have a Dell Dimension E520 destop PC and wish to upgrade my graphics card.
It currently has the factory fitted ATI Radeon X1300/X1550 256MB.
I would like to upgrade this to a HD graphics card, Is This Possible? and if so what cards could i use?

PC specs are :

Intel Pentium D CPU 2.80GHz (Dual core)
4GB RAM
Windows 7 32Bit

what are my options?

Thanks!

having owned that exact same PC you have the following options

under $50 - ATI 4650 DDR3

under $70 - ATI 4670 DDR3

under $90 - ATI 5670 DDR5 ver PCI-E 2.0

Nvidia has the GT 240 & GT220 but don't offer the same performance as their ATI counterparts for your dollar.

you would need to install the new drivers. if you go with the 5670, make sure its a 2.0 and not a 2.1 (they have caused some issues with older DELL mobos)

you won't see a difference between the 1GB and 512mb at that level of card.

Oh right i see, i thought the extra memory on the card might help out abit with gameing, i can play most games at the moment but have to play on low grapic settings which ruines alot of them.
