Does AsRock z68 extreme3 gen3 work with Ivy Bridge i5 3570k out of the box????? What will I have to do to make it work?????

I am a noob and building my first pc and i have read on the internet that my asrock z68 extreme3 gen3 mobo and my i5 3570k CPU won't work straight out of the box.

I guess you have to have sandy bridge i5 2500k already then upgrade or bios the mobo from sandy to ivy bridge?????
Is this true...do i have to send back my mobo ????

This is my setup all brand new unopened.

asrock extreme3 gen3
i5 3570k
crucial m4 128gb SSD
Saffhire hd7850 OC
NZXT 750w modular PSU
Corsair Vengeance 4x2 8gb 1600
Win 7 professional 64bit
Samsung cd-rw
Samsung dvd

You dont have to send back the mobo. You just need to upgrade bios to new one. So that you can run 3rd gen processor on it.

But first thing is you have to install a sandy bridge cpu to flash your mobo bios. After upgrading bios you can run i5-3570k.

You should probably choose a motherboard which supports the i5 3570k 'out of the box' without a BIOS update . . .

Then go for asrock z77 which dont need to flash bios. Your i5 3570k CPU will work straight out of the box.

It will cost $129.99 where AsRock z68 extreme3 gen3 cost $121.99 Not too much price difference. If you want to avoid bios stuff then you should get a z77.
