Intel heatsink RPM

First, I agree that computer fans don't go that low. I don't think there are computer fans that go below 500RPM.

Anyway, I STRONLY advise you to buy a non-stock heatsink/fan from a place like NCIX. You can get a better one than your current for as little as $20.

This will significantly lower the noise even when you barely use your computer.

Some points on this:

1) spend at least $20 (closer to $40 if you overclock or play games)

2) CPU fan must be plugged into the motherboard "CPU FAN" slot

3) BIOS must be set correctly. (my BIOS fan control setting was set to "AUTO" and needed "VOLTAGE"). If the BIOS is not set correctly the fan will run at 100% speed all the time.
