Motherboard and videocard

hey guys, so im helping my little bro out by putting a new video card in one of my old desktops, a nVIDIA Geforce 7600GS to be precise, the motherboard is an ASRock n68c-s ucc, when i start the comp up the comp goes on but the screen doesnt, i have checked with a friend he is pretty sure they are compatible, is he wrong? can any1 help me? im not expert by any means but i know my stuff, and im a little stumped on this one.

have you checked you installed it correctly annd plug monitor cable into video card ?
If yes try your vc in another pc

holy crap i feel like such a moron, haha. thx dude got it working, after replacing many of these the simplest things always catch you out
