That should work fine! I have put older DDR2 gskill in older HP's before and no issues.

HP and pre-built computers are mostly standardized, so a standard module would be best for compatibility. DDR3 standard is CL9, so with that CL8 kit, you have to wonder whether the motherboard can support CL8, and if not, will it downclock the memory properly to CL9.

Instead, just get a CL9 to be worry free.

Okay, thank you. I canceled my newegg order while it was in packaging. So I have to wait a few days for a refund. But I'll be sure to grab a standard kit once I've got the money back.

BTW all of those are 10666 is that compatible? I thought I had to get the 10600
