I just bought an LCD Monitor for my desktop. I currently have a MSI K8N NEO4 Mobo and when I go to plug in the new monitor the configuration is different. On my tower the receiving end for the monitor is a male with 10 pins. On my VGA cable it is also a male with 15 pins. I have looked for an adapter but no luck as I do not know the correct terms. I have HDMI in my graphics card but I dont care about the HD nor want to spend $75 plus for the adapter.

I wasnt sure if maybe there was a 15pin to 10 pin female adapter or maybe a 15 pin to a usb adapter. I do not know. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

yeah I just looked at your motherboard, the thing you are refering to is def an old serial port, you have not IGP (integrated video) so you will need to buy at least a low end gpu for basic computing, maybe a 5570 if you want high def mov playback capabilities
