So I got a HP box with the Phenom II x4 and 8GB ram but a dead HDD or so I thought...

I bought a new HDD but the mobo still didnt recognize any drives = dead mobo

So I bought a new ASUS m4a88td-m/usb3, hooked it up and after manually adding the FSP wires to the q-installed jumper pins, it powers up WITH NO VIDEO, no POST, no BIOS screen.

I could understand if any of the parts didnt work or were not hooked up properly (RAM, CPU, Drives, etc.) but why I can't see the BIOS?

I have an LCD VGA monitor hooked up to the DSUB port. I tried the HDMI port to no avail and I dont have a way to test the DVI-D port. Does the board default to the DVI-D port?

HELP!

thx,
