Usb Confusion

Hey guys, I just put together my pc and I have a problem. My keyboard wont work on the new pc but it works on my other(typing on it now). It worked last night when I had my computer on a bench but now nothing. Heres the thing, the usb ports work because I plugged in my usb phone charger and it started charging. So anybody have an idea on how to fix it? Im assuming its something with the keyboard because the usb ports are working.

The motherboard:

  1. Did you install usb drivers?

It will still be putting power out, hence the phone charger working. But you need your chipset/usb drivers installed to send data through them.
  2. some keyboard need driver to work did you plug it in a usb 2.0 or 3.0
  3. I thought you couldnt install any drivers without an operating system. And if its drivers, how was it working last night? @Scout_03 I tried both 2.0 and 3.0
  4. did you use the cd that came with the motherboard after the install of the os also keyboard use 2.0 slot did you try another slot on the system or another keyboard

  6. I dont believe its the keyboard or usbs now. I unplugged my HDD and it got into bios, but when I plugged it in and cut it on, the computer said "disk boot failure" but if I press ctrl m, it goes to Marvell bios setup. Then I can access bios by pressing f10, then delete before the disk boot failure screen comes up again. but when i exit bios it goes to the disk boot failure. Sorry, thats the best I can explain it. Is this a Hdd failure and if so, why did bios detect it in the start up screen before? Feel free to ask any questions cuz I know youll need to.

do you have another hdd to replace this one ,this one could have bad sector or defective and cut the boot process,if you could use another system to test this hdd with the drive maker tool that will confirm it's defective if it under warranty ask rma
