Best 5770 by brand

Out of Asus/Gigabyte/MSI/HIS/Powercolour (ranked by price), which is best in terms of price/performance?

Depends on if they are reference design or not.

If all are reference design then they work the same. Only difference is their lil sticker, logo, price, and warranty.

I own a Sapphire model, the Vapor-x series is generally good and uses a non-reference cooling design.
Other then that, an MSI or XFX model is what I would choose, I liked the new XFX 1 slot 5770 that was around because of it's size and decent cooling.

Yeah, like I've got a HIS 5770, but it idles at 45 which is higher than I'd like and its fan is noisy as crap. Would that just be a normal thing for a 5770 or not really?

lol nice. Didn't know those cards idle high given the fact that they are barely mid-level cards.

the cheapest one with a warranty that will cover it until your ready to upgrade. If your into overclocking or the room your pc is in gets above 25C i would look at one with a better than stock cooler.

i wud buy a MSI 5770 HAWX edition or lighting one coz they are highly OCable and even if ur room temps are high they will run cool and quiet

For the value ($126), I'm going with another HIS 5770, works well enough in my rig and its temps don't seem anomalous. Thanks a bunch for the help guys!
