Ati radeon hd 3650 no hdmi sound

I'm having a problem getting sound through the hdmi connected to my diamond ati radeon hd3650 1gb. The hdmi worked perfect under XP but since I upgraded to Win 7 I get video but no sound. I'm sure its a driver or a setting under Win 7 but I'm running out of ideas. Under the sound setting in the control panel their is an hdmi but its grayed out and says not plugged in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure the ATI HDMI driver is installed and enabled. You can download from ati.com or let Windows Update find for you, in most cases.
