HI guys,

I currently have a 5770, bought the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition 3.3 GHz and i am getting 25-30 FPS at full tilt on BC2, its running at 99-100% and over heating causing my PC to freeze needing a hard reboot, even when i lower the res although the FPS increases i am still seeing the GPU running 99-100% and over heating,

I have tried changing the drivers, rolling them back to 10.4 and no difference,

I am therefore thinking i may need to get a new GPU and was looking for a bit of help in choosing the best GPU for my price range,

I can afford to go around £220 and was looking at the ones below,

GTX 560 Ti 1G
GTX 470 1G
GTX 460 1G/ 2G
Asus HD 6950 2G
XFX HD 5870

I play BC2 mostly and looking for some advise,

3.30 gigahertz AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A87TD/USB3 Rev 1.xx
500 Gigabytes Sata Hard Drive
4G DDR3
Asus ATI Radeon HD 5770

Thanks in advance of your help

The card running at 100% still should not be overheating if you have proper cooling in the case -- what speed is the fan running at and have you tried adjusting it upward manually. What type of case do you have and is there enough airflow to keep the card supplied with cool air ? How long has it been since you opened it up and cleaned all of the dust\debris out of the case ?

well i just upgraded the CPU mobo and ram on Wed and at the same time i stripped the whole case and cleaned it all out, air suppy is pretty good but i ahve taken off the side panel last night after it over heated to help bring the temp down but was testing different setting today and happened again even with the case open, might try adjusting the fan manually as i havent tried that yet

adjusted fan, all the way up to 100% and temp keeps climbing, when it gets much of 85 it freezes, dont know why its getting so hot, i have reinstalled latest chip set and ATI drivers, i have dropped the res down to 1280 by 800 and yet still over heating and running at 100%, help!
