Another PSU question...

Hello, Just wondering if a 600w Coolermaster psu is enough for my system.

1156 i3-540
P7P55D-E LX
Corsair 8gb kit
HIS 6790 1gb
2 -140 fans
3 -120 fans
LG dvd burner
...all in a CM 690 II Advanced case

Thanks in advance.

Will the PSU come with the case? If so, I would buy the case without the PSU and get a better PSU separately.

Depending on the model, the CM 600's put out around 40 amps on the 12 volt rails, so a 600 watt PSU will be more than adequate. But I do not trust CM PSU's. They are still learning how to build truly good PSU's.
  2. Antec HCG 520W.
  3. Your system will not use that much power especially that Graphics card. You will be fine with that PSU. You can also search for some reviews of that PSU.
  4. That PSU will be more than enough. However I would go for at least a corsair branded one as they tend to have better quality than coolermaster psu`s.
  5. It depends which Cooler Master PSU it is. If it is a Silent Pro or Silent Pro Gold then there won't be any problems. If it is an eXtreme Power sort of thing then it's crap and shouldn't be used if it can be avoided.
  6. The GX series is also good.

No, I purchased the case separately. The Psu is from my old 775. As I am told it is sometimes better to have a higher wattage power supply for better modulation? If that makes any sense. I don't have too much hardware other than the two 1TB Cavier Black Sata drives. I usually only play Counterstrike online...So, not a gamer really. Good to know thanks for the info!

That is what I keep hearing to. Thanks.

Damn its an eXtreme! An about a couple year old one to, as it came from my old 775. I know I am not big player, just wanted to build something that would be stable and not break the bank. Thanks!
