I'm looking to upgrade my Asus CM5675 desktop. I was planning to put in a SAPPHIRE 100311SR Radeon HD 6970 and CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W. The only problems I'm having in making my decision so far would that the case I have is really, really, small. I'm not sure if it would fit? I measured it out and I would have just barely enough space but I don't want to get it if it's going to end up melting cause of being too cramped. Also I'm not sure if the H55 Intel motherboard can work with this video card?
If anyone could clear this up it would be great. I'm planning to upgrade my case in the near future to something significantly bigger and don't really plan to play any graphics intensive games at the moment.

More about : case small motherboard compatible

If you haven't purchased anything, just go all in and get the new case. Retrofitting the old one will be a hassle, especially if you're going to take it out again soon.
Also, only PCIx2 slots. Go for the entirely new computer.

Getting a new computer would probably be a bit more expensive than retrofitting what I currently have. I'd just like to know if it would work or not and whether I need some further upgrade such as a new motherboard.

http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/asus-essentio-cm5675-0... - this one, right?

Don't get a whole new computer just yet. A new power supply should not be a problem, although re-attaching all those power connectors and dealing with so many additional cables could be a major pain in the rear. You might want to look for a modular power supply.

The H55 mobo should have no issues with a discrete graphics card. You have a free PCI 2*16. Use it. It's all the mobo needs for a discrete graphics card.

I would worry about the space issues of the case for the 6970. You could opt for a smaller graphics card. You probably don't 'need' that monster for gaming. It is not a enthusiast PC, so perhaps you should not try to put an enthusiast card in it. There should be plenty of cards with decent power that would fit inside your case.

Or, you could opt for a bigger case. Since you will be installing a new power supply, you would be re-plugging everything in anyway. Still, could be a pain.
