Network unplugged error appears frequently

Hi,
I use the wireless feature of my modem to connect to internet for my laptop and a ethernet lan cable(rj 45) for my desktop to access internet.

But my desktop frequently disconnects from network saying "network unplugged error" and then again connects .This repeats for many times.

I need to connect to internet with ethernet cable to my desktop and wireless to my laptop without any problem. Please help

Desktop network adapter - Interl(R)Pro/100 VE

1st, try a new cable. If same issue, try a different port on the router, then uninstall and re-isntall the network card drivers, then try a different network card, about $10 from online stores.
