Hi there. i recently finished building my pc and have just upgraded to a xfx hd 4890, which is very power hungry, and have encountered problems.

when playing a game on high settings the screen goes blank, has artifacts all over it, and then crashes to a bluescreen or just a no signal cable screen.

i have a generic **** psu and am wondering if it is that that s causing the problem or the gpu. i have underclocked gpu and cpu and that has helped but not solved it

furmark runs fine though.
here are my specs.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black edition (UNLOCKED) overclocked @ 3.9 ghz (stable) but i have had to underclock it to reduce power compsumption to 2.1ghz

ati radeon 4890

Plus artic twin turbo Gpu fan.

2gb ddr2 ram

3 Case fans (one Cooler Master 12cm SickleFlow System Fan - Blue Leds, and 2 Artic f12 fans)

I would go for a 500W corsair or Antec, I have heard of CIT but I couldn't tell you much more.
