Nvidia problem

I recently bought a Dell XPS notebook with Windows 7 Home. The Video Graphic adapter I included in there was the Nvidia Geforce GT 420M (1GB). However, I noticed that there is another graphic adapter present. If I look in device manager/Display adapters, (1) Intel®HD Graphics (2) NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M. It seems like the Intel adapter takes priority over Nvidia, which was not what I wanted. I specifically wanted to use NVidia's graphics, and I am looking for a way to switch or even disable the Intel so my XPS specifically uses Nvidia for everything.
