Computer crashes when playing games.

Hi

I've built my own computer last year with no problems until now.

CPU: Phenom 955
GPU: Radeon 5850
PSU: Corsair 650tx
RAM: G.Skill 4 GB CL 7
HD: Samsung F3 500 GB

Everytime I play games, after a few minutes the screen freezes and mulitple colours and lines appear. I've updated my video drivers to the latest version. Does this mean my GPU is failing?

Start with checking / updating drivers. Be sure all the MB drivers are up to date as well as the graphics driver...

It sounds like your GPU might be the issue here.
Seeing as you describe odd colors and artifacts appearing on the screen upon the computer's halting.

Yeah. What can I do? Do I have to replace my GPU? Or is it possible the latest AMD drivers have issues and a rollback would help?

Are you overclocking your CPU or GPU at all?

Indeed, that is very likely.

Re-install (do a "clean" driver install just for good mesure) the previous drivers and give it a shot.

However, should that not work then it is likely just your GPU "acting up" and you will likely have to replace it if its not under warranty (naturally).
