Why am I only getting a score of 5.9? I was expecting something like 7.7 or 7.8 but this is wierd. I did install the drivers so idk whats the problem.

I have the 2gb 6950 Sapphire and its not overclocked(yet) and I can play Crysis and Dragon Age maxed out with no lag but when I played Shogun 2 it lages ALOT. Maybe its just that game but any replies will be helpful.

Full specs? Might be the CPU holding you back...

Windows Vista had a max score of 5.9, so that could be the issue. The max in Windows 7 is 7.9.

5.9 on the graphics card or overall? If you don't have a SSD 5.9 overall is as good as your going to do, every standard harddrive I have tried gives that same score.

Yea I figured it was only out of 5.9. I tried Shogun 2 again and its running perfectly only dipping to 19-23 fps in big battles.

Windows Vista or 7?

If 7, are you giving us the max score? Because HDDs that aren't SSD always give 5.9, as Benski said.

MS's WEI scores are more or less meaningless.

Run some benchmark programs to get a better idea of your PC performance. I read someone who had a HD 6950, but got something like 5.1. Some gaming benchmarks told him it was running fine.

Chances are ,it is your hard drive that got the rating of 5.9.It really means nothing unless you want the number to go up personally, you would have to invest in a Ssd or a 10,000 RPM Velociraptor Hard Drive. But like I said,it is no big deal.Last year when I first built my rig my score was 5.9 and I thought -"wow"-"what is wrong"...It was my Seagate Xt 2tb hard drive but all my other stuff was rated at 7.8 and 7.9.Really no big issue. Those 2 6950's are great cards and they scale well together with the right equipment...and the Eyefinity is cool, especially looking at 3-27 inch monitors would really be cool.

Now I'm on windows 7 before I was on vista because I didn't know how to go from 32 bit to 64bit windows 7 but I figured it out.

I'm getting a 7.3 for my x4 955, 7.5 for 8gb patriot ram, and 6 for my 6950. This is out of 7.9 and even though I was expecting a higher score than 6 I have yet to play Crysis 2 which will probably run well nonetheless. Performance wise I don't feel flashing it to a 6970 is necessary but how do I flash this card with a 6950 bios and even if do choose to flash it to a 6970 there isn't a switch on this card that I have found?
