Hello,
ive got a radeon hd 4850 that keeps shutting my pc down after a couple of minutes of gameplay. i was told it could be the psu that was causing the problem so i replaced my 350w unit with a 700w unit but the pc still shuts down. my gpu runs at about 95c and i am told thats quite normal for a hd4850. i replaced an 8800gt for the radeon because of the same problem. my cpu temp averages at about 30c.

90 centigrade, normal after 2 minutes? Certainly not!
You replaced a 350w unit with 700w of power for the sake of an HD4850? Waste, what model and brand is your new power supply? Please give the rest of your system specification.

Clean the card, if that doesn't work you can try removing the heat sync and replacing the thermal paste, if that doesn't work you will probably have to replace it.
