Test my ram

Hello, i was wondering how i can test my ram,

i have i5 3570k processor and i do not have dvd/cd reader but i got 2 usb pen one on 4gb and one on 8gb

hope someone would help

are you able to boot to Windows? Are you running Windows 7?

yes i am able to boot into windows 7

click on the 'Windows' button (formerly the 'Start' button) and type Windows Memory in the search box. The Windows Memory Diagnostic item will appear at the top. Click it and at the restart prompt choose restart. The windows memory diagnostic tool will test your RAM. You can change the memory test parameters while it is running. The hot keys are at the bottom of the screen.

ok thanks, how long should i let it run?

The standard test is 2 passes. I imagine the standard test will run within 5-10 minutes on your PC. If you change any of the parameters, it could run longer depending which you choose.

i have now ruined the standard test, is it 100% that nothing is wrong with my ram

When you boot back into Windows, it lets you know. Also, during the test, it will indicate if it has found an issue.
