Hello,

quite simple i'm up grading from a ATI Radeon HD 3850 to a ATI Radeon HD 5770

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30 GHz
power supply is 630W
2GB ram
mother board is KA3MVP Extreme (Elitegroup)
Link to the mother board with all info on it http://www.ocmodshop.com/ocmodshop.aspx?a=827

computer works when the 3850 is plugged in, then when i swap out the card and put the new one in. i hit the power button and all the fans and lights go on but the computer doesn't boot. just stays sleeping

i tried both of my PCIe slots (both are X16)

and yes the power cord is plugged into the back of it.

I did unistall my drivers before I put the new card in.

One thing that someone mentioned was that the PCI slots were 1.0 (i believe) and the card is a 2.1.

i read somewhere that the cards were backwards compatable but i still have no Clue
so if anyone can help me out that would be sweeeeeet

Some time ago I also had trouble with a 5670 in a PCIE 1.0 motheboard (also and AMD X2..), in my case the computer tried to boot several times till it was able to boot.... I´ve read here that the problem sometimes happen with 2.1 PCIE GPUs....
