Need help with building new business pc please

I am looking to build a business pc, the pc would be used strictly for data , some still images and internet sales, I like to do multi-tasking with the pc’s so I normally have 6 or 7 windows open in same time, I like to get Intel cpu, either i3 or i5, as for ram 8 or 12 gig for the video I like to have a 500 gig, and for hard drive I was thinking of getting 2 one 250 gig for the operating system and 1 terabyte for the data and such, my budget is between 800-1000.

Hi Jon, welcome to the forums.

Let's talk over some stuff real quick.

-First off, we can easily get that i3 you want. The i3-2100 fits the bill perfectly.

-You do not need 12 GB of ram. Trust me on this one. In fact, you only need 2 GB. However, we'll throw in 4GB just to be sure that you won't run into ram related issues.

-How about an SSD for the OS, (60 GB, allows you to install windows 7 plus some apps, like MS office and such) and 1 or 2 TB for data? SSD's are WAY faster than mechanical hard drives. However, they cost much more.

Last thing is, what do you have now? Do you need a monitor? How about mouse, keyboard, or OS?

I would start by finding a couple of cheap 23 or 24 inch monitors, that will leave you with a budget of around 750, which is more than you will need. I'd say around $600 should get you what you the rest of what you want. If you post the build for $1000 max, most of the builds will come in around $1020. If you order the monitors right away, then post a $600 build, that will be more than sufficient for what you need. Also , you'll want to compare Win 7 Home premium and Win 7 Pro to see if you need any features from pro, there is a decent price difference between the two.

Thought I would throw this build out there to give you an idea of what you could get with your budget. I already had it done up for a consulting gig for a small business on a hardware budget of $1000 and $350 for software. It is designed for a small business they wanted to have multiple windows open on dual monitors as well an SSD boot drive and TB of secondary storage. I removed the Software and Keyboard/Mouse as they were "bulk" items.
