hey,
i have found this ram G.SKILL F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR and it says that 'its designed for 2nd gen. processors'...
so will it work with an ivy bridge cpu and z77 mobo?

It will work on ivy bridge. When that ram was out, 2nd gen processor was latest. So it state that.
