Some idiot Chinese mine manager just blew up 20 school children in his spare
time. Maybe that's what they mean by "Peking duck!" This shows just how
backward China really is. I bet they don't have an OSHA there yet. If they
do, it's called OSHIT. Any foreigners traveling through the area got any
digital pics of this clamity?

BEIJENG - At least 20 grade school students were killed when
explosives stored at the nearby home of a coal mine manager
blew up in Kechup, a town in northern China, news reports
said Thursday. The town is in one of China's biggest
coal-mining regions, newspapers reported.

That's not politics - it's reality.
Notice Darrell doesn't make a judgement based on safety or sweatshops -
he merely points out the reasons why they are more likely to exist in
China than other parts of the world.

I think Ben is suggesting that generalising is flawed and is giving an
example
for effect. I'm sure there are one or two of you that aren't arrogant ;-)
and
Ben will no doubt agree.

Mr. Thomas,
OSHA is the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in the United
States of America. A simple Google search will tell you that.
Your presumption that I am an American is a gross generalisation. I work in
America and take advantage of their great capitalist system, but I am not an
American. If you want to talk arrogance, just ask a Kiwi what he thinks of
an Ozzie.

Hi,
How backward country like China would have a such a picture taken?
You think China is so backward? Have a trip there and come back here.
And come back here, tell us all about what you saw and did. U.S. GIs
shot and killed Italian security service man escorting released hostage
to airport in Baghdad. This is OSHIT too. No?

Mr. Hwang,
If I went to China and experienced what happened at Tiananmen Square, I
would think I'm in downtown Baghdad, no? I don't think China has such a
perfect government or society as you might want others to think. It is
backward compared to 1st world countries. Accept that as a fact of life.
Hopefully China will come into the 20 century soon.
By the way, I had to tell that Ozzie idiot that I am not American. It's
funny how you insecure people automatically assume that I'm American. I
suppose Americans are the world's favorite whipping posts and that's why you
automatically jump to conclusions. Maybe in the year 3000, China will be in
the top 100. First you have to get rid of those Communist idiots running
your country. I hope you aren't one.

It's not that I wish that they not catch all the way up, it's that they have
a monumental way to go. There is a big difference between a rickshaw and an
Audi. China is modernizing fast, but they are so far behind that it will
take them a while to pull off what Japan did after WWII. Before they catch
up, this will most likely happen (requires audio):
